Men’s Health Week 2025: Prioritising Men’s Well-being - How Herts Ability Can Help!

June 10, 2025

Men’s Health Week is an important annual event that shines a light on the physical and mental health challenges faced by men of all ages. Taking place from June 9th to June 16th, 2025, the week offers an opportunity to promote healthy living, encourage open conversations, and empower men to take proactive steps towards better health.

At Herts Ability, we believe that health and independence go hand in hand. This Men’s Health Week, we’re proud to support men across Hertfordshire and beyond by providing inclusive services that promote mobility, confidence, and overall well-being.

What is Men’s Health Week?

First launched in 1994 in the United States and now observed around the world, Men’s Health Week raises awareness of preventable health problems and encourages early detection and treatment of disease among men. It also aims to address health inequalities by promoting education, support, and action at both personal and community levels.

The week leads up to Father’s Day, making it a perfect time to check in on the health of the men in our lives - whether they’re fathers, sons, brothers, friends, or partners.

How You Can Get Involved

Whether you're looking to take better care of your own health or support the men around you, here are some meaningful ways to get involved this Men’s Health Week:

  • Schedule a Health Check-up
Encourage yourself or the men in your life to book a check-up. Routine screenings like blood pressure, cholesterol, and prostate exams can make a world of difference in early detection and prevention.
  • Organise or Attend a Health Education Session
Local workshops or webinars on topics like diet, exercise, stress management, or mental health can be incredibly beneficial. Knowledge is power when it comes to making informed lifestyle choices.
  • Get Active
Physical activity benefits both the body and mind. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a cycling group, or a local five-a-side football match, get moving and make it social.
  • Share Helpful Resources
Spread awareness by sharing tips and educational content via social media or community notice boards. Talking about mental health, for instance, helps break the stigma and encourages men to seek help when needed.
  • Support Men’s Health Organisations
Donating to or volunteering for charities that focus on men’s well-being helps to fund important work, from health research to frontline support services.
