Are you passionate about helping people stay independent and safe on the road? Would you like to make a meaningful impact in your local community? If so, we’d love you to consider becoming a Trustee at Herts Ability!

Join Our Board of Trustees
We are currently looking to strengthen our Board of Trustees with new members who share our passion for accessible transport and mobility support.
You don’t need previous experience on a charity board - just a willingness to get involved, learn, and support our mission. We provide a warm induction and ongoing support to help you feel confident in your role.

We are especially interested in hearing from people with experience in:
- Human Resources (HR)
- Finance or Audit
- Healthcare professions
- Legal, Risk, or Safeguarding
- Public Sector Commissioning or NHS Partnerships
- Health and Safety
We also warmly welcome anyone with an interest in our work, including people with lived experience of disability or caring for someone with a disability.
Other Skills That Would Be Helpful
If you have experience in any of the following areas, we’d also love to hear from you:
- Data, evaluation, and impact measurement
- Digital, IT or cybersecurity
- Marketing and communications
- Equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)
What Trustees Do
As a Trustee, you’ll play a key role in shaping our future and ensuring we remain a strong and effective organisation. Trustees:
- Help set our strategic direction and support the Chief Executive
- Safeguard good governance, service quality, and financial health
- Champion our work and help us connect with communities and partners
What’s the Commitment?
We hold quarterly Board meetings, with reading and occasional events in between. The role is voluntary, and we reimburse reasonable expenses.
